Get the creator’s Windows download
Use the current link on Aethus’s game page; package names and download hosts can change.
Open the original game page and find its Windows download link. This independent guide does not host the game. Avoid treating an unverified community mirror as the creator’s release.
Historical archive steps
- Follow the Windows link on the creator’s page and read the current download instructions.
- A community guide based on v0.90.0 described a RAR archive. If the current package is an archive, extract the whole archive to a folder rather than opening a single file inside it.
- Open the executable included in the extracted package, following the creator’s current instructions. File names and contents may have changed since that guide.
The historical guide did not test the executable’s safety, and we have not downloaded or run the package. These steps do not guarantee installation or compatibility.
If the download is slow or interrupted
The creator’s Windows archive can take a long time on a slow connection. If a download stops, open your browser’s downloads list and try Resume; keep the partial file in place. On October 30, 2026, a one-byte range request to the creator’s then-current archive returned HTTP 206, indicating that address supported partial requests at that time. The URL or server behavior can change, and resuming does not make the connection faster.
If your browser cannot resume, retry when the connection is more stable. You can also play in the browser if it runs on your device, although that is not an offline Windows installation. A third-party mirror page lists a Windows archive as v0.115.0 and 725.3 MiB with a publisher-provided checksum. A Reddit commenter says it was shared in the game community, but we have not verified that claim, downloaded the file, compared its bytes with the creator’s archive or measured its speed. It may be older or different. Check the creator’s current community links before deciding; a listed checksum alone does not establish authenticity. Community download reference ↗
Want a different survivors-style game?
There is no objective winner without knowing what you enjoy. Azeroth Survivors offers the browser game and a Windows download; its reported browser co-op supports up to five. Hordes of Azeroth is a separate solo project with its own local server; its README requires a separate World of Warcraft 1.12.1 client and describes an endless horde and character progression. Choose it if local solo play and that setup appeal to you; choose Azeroth Survivors if you want the browser path or its reported co-op. We have not compared the games through playtesting.
Before changing devices
If you have progress to preserve, see exporting and importing saves before changing browser data or moving to another installation. Cross-platform transfer has not been tested here.
For the browser version, see startup troubleshooting; once you can play, use the first-run controls.
